i dream of sovereignty,
2022Acrylic, oil pastels, conté on raw canvas
4ft by 5ft
I dream of sovereignty is inspired by ehiko’s vision of sovereignty. To her this means believing the ultimate authority, (God) , reigns over all aspects of her life, health, decision-making and that man has no say in those things. By encouraging viewers to take every step daily to secure autonomy over their bodies, to own their own land, and to raise their children and food. Pictured is ehiko’s future farm with cattle.Growing bell peppers, onions and lemongrass. An intimate moment ehiko often meditates on. Showcasing the abundance of a self-sufficient, sustainable lifestyle. A resolution we can do for the planet and ourselves.
Reflect on these and embody your answers:
How can I be more self sufficient?
What life skills have I attained?
What life skills haven't I attained?
What’s stopping me and how can I defeat it?
How can I be a creator and not a gluttonous consumer?
How can I give back to the land?
With gratitude,
ehiko
